TRAINING - 2008

We have a permanent training ground at Browns Store, near Heathsville, with 4 acres  of technical water, and almost every other scenario.  We will use ducks, pigeons and pheasants and also bumpers and boats.  Everyone is expected to participate as bird throwers, etc.., but we do have electronic released "Zinger Wingers" and "traps".  We are working on establishing a supply of live birds for future training.  Training times will run from 9am (8am in the summer months) to about 2pm or 3pm -   The cost will be $5 per dog, maximum $10.  A microwave & coffee maker are available at the Atkins farm, but plan to bring your own refreshments and drinks for yourself and your dog.

We will use the following basic ground rules for 2008

2nd Saturday and 4th Saturday,  EXCEPT when bird hunting season, OR we need to change it for major hunt tests

This would make January a Sunday month as the duck season goes on to Jan 26 .

This will keep us going to September 1 when Goose & Dove season start again. Also, if very hot we will cancel.
